When I first came to Elm Springs, it was because my family had heard wonderful things about the place—especially from a nurse we’ve known for years. She’s a trusted family friend, and after she shared her experience here, my kids and I agreed it was the right fit for me.

Since moving in, I’ve felt nothing but appreciation for the kindness and helpfulness of the staff. They go out of their way to ensure I’m comfortable, even helping me to and from the dining room, as walking long distances can be a challenge. The meals are great, the people are friendly, and I feel cared for every day.

If someone asked me about Elm Springs, I’d tell them they absolutely couldn’t go wrong. Every service, every gesture, every moment here has made me feel at home.

My sister Marilyn has had some walking and coordination issues for a while now, and after experiencing a few falls, we knew she needed more support than we could offer at home. That’s when we chose Rehabilitation Center of Allison. Since she moved in, the team has taken good care of her. She had a few adjustment struggles in the beginning, but overall, things are working out well.

Marilyn doesn’t always remember names, but she always talks about how much she loves Ella—the caregiver who bathes her, trims her nails, and makes her feel pampered and cared for. It’s those small touches that really make a difference.

She enjoys participating in the activities offered and finds joy in staying engaged. I also really appreciate how well the staff communicates with us—especially when there are medication changes or other updates. It helps our family feel informed and included. After working in the kitchen here and serving breakfast every morning, I was familiar with the people and the place. I chose to stay at the Rehabilitation Center of Allison because it’s a lot safer than where I was living before, and the people here are closer to my age. It’s such a nice community—we share stories from when we were growing up, and the activities really help keep us connected.

What I look forward to most is seeing the younger people and the vibrant community that keeps the energy alive. I also appreciate the support we get. They serve two meals a day, and they help with laundry, vacuuming, and cleaning your kitchen and bathroom.
